4.2 Upload methods
 Before you do anything, please make sure that you're familiar with our photo upload rules, graphics upload rules and metadata guidelines!
Stockxpert offers two ways to upload your work:
» Using the web upload form
» Uploading via FTP
USING THE WEB UPLOAD FORM
- Go to My images / Upload images.
- Select photos or graphics at the top of the form.
- Select up to 5 images (or 5 images and 5 zipped vector files) from your computer.
- Add information - Type the title of the images and a brief description, select up to 3 image categories and add up to 20 keywords, separated by commas -- or tick "Read IPTC data instead" if your images have embedded metadata. Categories will still have to be added.
- Select a folder for the images and select a model release if necessary.
- For series, tick the "Same subject" checkbox. If you'd like numbered titles, turn on Numbering.
- Please be patient after submitting the form. The upload process may take several minutes.
UPLOADING VIA FTP
If you have a large number of images this is the easiest, fastest and most convenient way to upload them.
- Prepare your files. To upload a model release for a file use the "mr_" prefix in the filename, and to upload a zipped vector file alongside an image use the same filename with a .zip extenstion. For example, for a file called image.jpg the model release would be mr_image.jpg and the zipped file should be image.zip.
- Connect to ftp://stockxpert.com (NOT ftp://ftp.stockxpert.com!) with your Stockxpert username and password, and copy your files. Do not create folders on the server, because they (and their contents) will be ignored.
- After uploading, go to your SXP Briefcase™. You should see all the uploaded files.
- Press the Transfer button to make the files accessible in your gallery. IPTC metadata is read automatically.
- Edit image details with the Bulk editor if necessary.
Uploaded images end up in the pending queue immediately, and members of the Stockxpert quality control team (a.k.a. the admins, reviewers, inspectors) check them all for quality, subject, composition, releases and metadata information to see if they fit the site. This may take a few days depending on the queue size. To ensure fast reviews, please make sure that you have all the necessary data filled in and all the necessary releases attached to the images as soon as possible.
